1. Outdoor (Beach) Massage:

Pros:

Cheap. For 350 PHP (~9USD) you can get an hour of massage therapy on the beach.

Easy to find. If you walk along the White Beach Path (especially Station 2), you will find plenty of massage tables and/ or tents set up and therapists nearby. Photo below.

Special Requests. You can also request a for a session while tanning under the sun. Or you can get romantic with your partner and get a sunset massage together.

Cons:

Exposed. If you’re the type of person who doesn’t like getting a massage with 10 other people at the same time, then beach massage is probably not for you.

Less Comfortable. Though some enjoy the natural breeze of the beach front, some love getting their massage in more comfortable air conditioned rooms.

2. Indoor Massage (Middle of the Road Spas)

Pros:

More private, more comfortable.

Cons:

A little bit more expensive than outdoor (beach) massage, some indoor massage places look nicer on their ads than in real life. Below are Service Menu & Rates of Indoor Massage Places at Station 2 as of July 2011 (prices may change without prior notice):

3. High-End Spa Services

Pros:

First class treatment and packages, use better skin products, more relaxing and soothing environment, more options to choose from

Cons:

Quite expensive (can be anywhere from 2,500 per hour to more than 20,000 PHP  [60 to 475 USD]); shuttle usually needed as these certain spas are 3 to 5 minutes ride from common landmarks (i.e. D’Mall at Station2, Boracay).

4. Fish Spa

Pros:

Unique experience where the feet and legs (below the knee) are submerged in a glass tank full of small fish. These little fish nibble on your feet and remove dead skin. It is not so expensive either. They also offer shoulder massage and nail art.

Cons:

If you mind dipping your feet in with several other pairs, then you probably wouldn’t like this. Some also view the fish spa as unhygienic even though it has been popular for a while.

5. Chiropractic Services

Pros:

Proven to relieve back pain by correcting spinal misalignments (unlike massage that simply stimulates the muscles). The practitioner is a Doctor of Chiropractic (requires at least 10 years of schooling like Medical Doctors). Cold laser therapy also available.

Cons:

Only available for hotel outcalls or home service at the moment until the office is fully set up.
